THE UNIT OF MANAGEMENT IN ICT AND THE SCHOOL OF ROBOTICS OF MISIONES
Strongly linked to global policies integrating ICT in education, the project of the School of Robotics in Misiones has been preceded by a long journey of educational innovation projects, which are its basis and foundation.
Misiones has joined the various policies aimed at the incorporation of technology in education, becoming a pioneer as far as innovation is concerned. Over the past two decades, the jurisdiction implemented several strategies to create conditions of equality and integration.
In 2004, through the Improvement Program of Educational System (PROMSE), projects to develop strategies for ICT integration in different areas of the curriculum were promoted.
From 2008, he began implementing the Support Program Policy Improving Educational Equity (PROMEDU), aimed at improving equity and quality of secondary early childhood education, primary and not only by improving and expanding building infrastructure, but also through support for the incorporation of ICT in teaching practices.
In 2010 the Conectar Igualdad Program is launched as a digital education public policy inclusion. The program was aimed at ensuring access to and use of ICT by distributing 5 million laptops to students in secondary schools and special education. It also contemplated the provision of mobile digital classrooms with laptops for the last years of teacher training colleges across the country.
In 2014, Misiones became the first province to complete the delivery of netbooks according to the schedule established by the national government, which means that all students and teachers from schools in the province covered by the decree of the program had their laptop with all the implications that this brought to the classroom. Also being one of the first in bringing technology to rural secondary schools, called LMU (Local Management Units).
Beginning in 2017, elementary schools were incorporated through the Digital Primary program; the main challenge is to promote digital literacy among children in Argentina, assuming that access to technology is part of the right to quality education. In the jurisdiction, with the primary program Digital to all primary schools were included and thus, Misiones became the first province to meet Zero Digital Divide, that is, that all public institutions -primary, secondary, special teacher-training have access to computers and technology in their classrooms.
Following the strong social, political and educational impact threw the results of the implementation of Conectar Igualdad and Digital Primary, the province prompted the creation of a New General Directorate of ICT under the Ministry of Education of the province, to deal exclusively with the incorporation of technology in education and in 2012, the Unit Management was created in ICT in the House of Representatives of Misiones, whose mission is “to design, manage and implement innovation policies in the field of ICT in the Province of Misiones in consensus with the actors of the political, scientific, technological, social, educational, cultural and productive network, generating mechanisms for adoption, appropriation and application “manner.
THE MANAGEMENT UNIT IN ICT
Founded in 2012, by Decree 453/12, the Management Unit ICT began generating actions within the framework of the mission for which it was created, some of which -the most outstanding are detailed below.
Experimenting with technologies workshop.
Registered under the Framework Agreement of Knowledge Transfer signed by the House of Representatives of the province of Misiones and the National Program of Connecting Equality of ANSES.
Social innovation workshops “Samsung. Solutions for the future. “
dictated by SociaLab are performed every year and its goal is to provide learning tools to develop projects from school to improve the life of the community, to addressing the problems identified containing based science, technology and mathematics solutions.
Programming and Robotics workshops for technology.
In charge of EDUCABOT. It was aimed at technological concerning aspects of robotics applied to education.
Aimed at teachers and conducted under the agreement with Wikimedia Argentina. These workshops comprise the second stage of educational experiences with Wikipedia, in this case, teachers worked with their learning experiences with Wikimedia and other practices of digital culture in the classroom.
Agreement between the House of representatives and Samsung Electronics Argentina. Designed to support the incorporation of advanced technology for education. Through this agreement signed in 2014, it was agreed to mount an interactive classroom or Samsung Smart School, located in the House of Representatives. Notably, the Samsung classroom in Misiones received international recognition “2015 Corporate Citizenship” best practices implementation.
Wikimedia agreement with Argentina. Signed between the House of Representatives and the executive management of Wikimedia, aiming to provide tools to young misioneros so that they can join the generation of content in a collaborative and open, involving our teachers and young people in the construction of knowledge.
INTEL agreement with Argentina. Signed between the House of Representatives and the INTEL Company in Argentina, the agreement seeks to incorporate and encourage the use of tablets at baseline project. Under the agreement, three kindergartens in the province were provided with tablets and training for teachers were conducted in the use of these oriented teaching.
Conference “Teachers’ knowledge”. Training, Drawing on experience and research. A specialist in charge of Education Flavia Terigi. Conceived as a space for reflection with emphasis on teacher educational activity.
Conference “environments with high technology available as an opportunity”. In charge of Master of Science in Education and in Teaching Mariana Maggio. During the conference pedagogical issues related to technology and education were discussed, and the sense that is given to the incorporation of technology.
Development and presentation Educational Portal Andresito. website with educational content developed in the province and a compilation of material from various sources, which functions as a reservoir of resources developed by teachers and students in the province with virtual classrooms of various proposals for teacher education emerged in the field of ICT Secretariat .
Samsung digital classroom project. Carried through the line of social responsibility of Samsung Argentina, the project focuses on the meaningful use of ICT by children and teenagers in educational areas of formal and non-formal structure, from a perspective of shared growth. With this project were benefited seven rural primary schools in the province, which received All-in-One computers, netbooks, applications, etc. and creative multimedia production workshops, through a programmable environment designed especially for children and adolescents.
Meeting Young Connected to the Future. This project was carried forward from the Speaker of the House of Representatives through the ICT Unit Management, in coordination with the vice government of the province. The proposal was designed to promote youth leadership.
Tribute to the 60 years of the province of Misiones.
In its framework, activities focused on revaluing the history of the Jesuit Missions and the values inculcated in the Jesuit-Guaraní organization. The recognition of the great people who forged the missionary feeling. The historical value of the local hero Andrés Guacurarí was recovered as well as the great federal ideas that were always the axis of the misioneros history.
In the framework of all these actions, the professionalization of human resources occupies a preponderant place and, in this sense, it should be noted that by signing an agreement between the House of Representatives and the Exact Faculty of Chemical and Natural Sciences of the National University of Misiones created the career of University Technician in Information Technology, which allows about 250 school technical facilitators of the jurisdiction to have a university education in order to the activities that are being carried out within the framework of the PLANIED (National Education Digital Plan) and the School of Robotics. The profile aims to train professionals who can respond to different implementation requirements of technological projects within schools.
In 2016 the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Misiones urged the Bill of Digital Education of the Province of Misiones in study- in which established:
“… the conditions of development of digital education in the province of Misiones for the formation of learning skills, content management and information, communication, social, and cultural practices, sharing with others in a global world, creativity, innovation , critical thinking, problem solving, independent learning, and continuous updating within an educational system that contributes to building standards of living and behavior, so that the inhabitants of the province of Misiones enjoy full rights as digital citizens to enable them act responsibly and safely. “
SCHOOL OF ROBOTICS OF MISIONES.
In 2016, through a cooperation agreement signed with the HP Company, the creation of the Robotics School of Misiones was completed. Through this agreement, the company HP is committed to provide experience, knowledge, technical assistance and equipment of the latest generation with the objective of implementing a School of Robotics in the province and carrying out interdisciplinary pedagogical experiences that promote the development of skills and competences in all its users, with the purpose that through practice they learn to use technological means as a way to acquire knowledge, interpret information and use it to solve specific problems of their reality.
The House of Representatives, on the other hand, provides the building infrastructure as well as highly trained personnel for the generation of learning environments based on the development of macro skills such as collaborative work, problem solving, creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, self-management and manual skills.
From its creation to the present, there are numerous actions that have been added to the dialogue and that allow us to validate and extend this experience. An example of this is the approval of the Disruptive Education Law, through which Misiones became the first province in the country to incorporate cross-curricular designs, in all levels and modalities of the education system, robotics and programming, taking as axis of action the School of Robotics of the province, through projects such as Sumá tu Escuela and EFA 4.0 among others.
